DESCENT OF MOST LICKING COUNTY DAGUE"S

Generation 1 - Frederick Dague (Deeg) 1736-1796

Generation 2 - Mathias Dague I. 1761-1847

Generation 3 - Mathias Dague II. 1788

Generation 4 - John Dague 1820 - 1866

Licking County Dagues - I think you will find most Licking County Dague's descend from one family: John DAGUE and Caroline (MONROE) Dague. John DAGUE was born to Mathias DAGUE, Jr and Mima ROSE, in Franklin County (Columbus), which borders Licking County to the west. Plain Township in eastern Franklin County borders Jersey Township in western Licking County. John DAGUE, born in Plain Township, married Caroline MONROE whose family migrated to Jersey Township in 1837 from New Jersey. There is a DAGUE Cemetery in Gahanna on Route 62 with many Franklin County DAGUE's interred there. There are many more DAGUE's to be found in Frankilin County than in Licking County. It is believed that Hamilton DAGUE founded the town of Dague in Paulding County, Ohio. He was a postmaster in Paulding County, Ohio for many years.
